Marin Barleti University (UMB) is a non-public institution of Higher Education in Albania, founded and established in 2005 by Marin Barleti Ltd, legally certified by the Decision of Councils of Ministers of the Republic of Albania No. 571, date 12.08.2005.

Named after the 15th century historian/humanist, Marin Barleti, author of the historic account of the Scanderbeg epics, the university seeks to provide opportunities to engage in life-long learning.

Marin Barleti University operates as an independent higher education institution. It works for the benefit of the society in a number of inter-related ways:

• as a vehicle for mobilizing knowledge and creating sustainable intellectual capital
• as a critical friend of the government with a capacity to appraise and guide policy
• as a resource for generating and sustaining economic development
• as a source for cultivating democratic ideals and standards.

Marin Barleti University has two main faculties: Economics and Finance, Applied Sciences and Law and Social Sciences. They provide a wide range of professional programs, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
In addition, the university runs five specialized research units that operate as semi-independent entities along non-government organization (NGO) lines: the Barleti Institute for Research and Development (BIRD), the Albanian Institute of Public Affairs (AIPA), Adriapol Institute, Educational Insitute Barleti, and YouthAct center.
The Barleti Hub within the university serves as the local startup ecosystem.
