Home to around 9,300 undergraduate, postgraduate, executive and professional, full- and part-time students, SMU is comprised of six schools: School of Accountancy, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, School of Economics, School of Information Systems, School of Law, and School of Social Sciences. SMU offers a wide range of bachelors', masters' and PhD degree programmes in the disciplinary areas associated with the six schools, as well as in interdisciplinary combinations of these areas.

SMU has an emphasis on generating rigorous, high-impact, and relevant multi-disciplinary research that addresses Asian issues of global relevance. SMU faculty members collaborate with leading international researchers and universities from USA, Europe, China and India, as well as with partners in the business community and public sector, through its research institutes, centres and labs. SMU Libraries

Li Ka Shing Library is the centre for academic and professional knowledge resources and services that support the research and learning needs of the Singapore Management University (SMU) community. The library facilitates knowledge creation and discovery through its electronic search platform, and provides access to a wide array of research resources on and off campus. The library’s four levels offers a range of learning spaces, including open areas for individual and collaborative use, study carrels, project rooms equipped with LCD panels, learning labs, quiet areas, investment studio, graduate lounges, and Hive - an innovative space for collaborative learning. Library staff have diverse backgrounds and most have obtained specialised degrees in library and information science and also degrees in subject areas key to SMU such as accounting, economics, law and social sciences.

The S P Jain School of Global Management

The S P Jain School of Global Management is a private business school, with campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney. It is internationally renowned.  S P Jain was ranked #1 in the UAE: Nielsen Salary Audit Report 2014. The Global MBA program has been ranked among the Top 20 MBA programs in the Forbes Best International Business Schools 2013.

S P Jain's history dates back to 1981 when its first sister campus was established in Mumbai, India. This had the unique distinction of being inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Hon. Margaret Thatcher. Since its inception, the school has been ranked amongst the top 10 business schools in India for its MBA programs. In 2004, S P Jain with its objective to focus on global learning established its first international campus in Dubai. In 2005, S P Jain was invited by the Singapore Government to establish a campus in Singapore. In 2012, S P Jain launched its third international campus in Sydney, Australia.
