Yesterday, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences to Ben Bernanke, Douglas Diamond and Philip Dybvig. The three economists have been doing research on the role of banks and helped us understand why it is important to avoid bank collapses during financial crises. Congratulations!
