Peru Environmental and Social Safeguards Issues Paper: Upstreaming Environmental and Social Risk Management
The purpose of this paper is to provide information and analysis on the environmental issues facing Peru so that the Bank can take into account potentially significant environmental risks as well as opportunities in the Peru Country Strategy and the subsequent programming activities. The objective is to enable the Bank to be an effective partner in sustainable development and undertake the necessary actions and approaches to adequately address these risks and opportunities, including to facilitate capacity building and other enabling conditions for proper environmental management (Directive A.6).
