Romanian SME Facing the Challenge of European Accession

Small and medium-sized enterprises, besides science and technology, may be a decisive factor in transforming a national economy. SME are not only a new social pattern, but they won a well-defined position, especially due to their adaptation possibilities, the large number of jobs provided, the flexibility in technology and management, and the ability to collaborate with industrial giants. The SME that are not subject to a serious process of automation cannot do e-business. It is not enough to have access to Internet or simply to have a website that attractrs clients or suppliers, if on-line orders cannot be honored. It is very important for the enterprise to have an integrated system for electronic businesses and the new environment should be used in as many operations within the company as possible. Romanian SME are just starting the journey on this way. The accession of our country to the European Union may be the survival test. Only the ones that are ready will remain in the business game
