Strategy Paper on Localisation of SDGs in India

After the launch of the first state-level SDG index by NITI Aayog at the end of 2018, the system of national-level monitoring of SDGs has got well-established but the percolation of monitoring and implementation mechanisms at the sub-state level is at various stages of evolution in different states. Many states have begun to avail the financial assistance of external agencies such as GIZ towards SDG localisation at the district and sub-district levels. Though many valuable documents exist on the localisation of SDGs in India, the core actionable components seem to have become obfuscated in the glare of ornamental power-point presentations and glossy reports. This strategy paper has been written to bridge the need for a crisp and clutter-free manuscript which can provide pathways for localisation bereft of verbosity
